Birdwatching
Belize is a paradise for birdwatchers.
Many resident and migratory exotic birds proliferate the surface archeological sites where the open plazas and flora provides abundant food for many species.
The Jabiru Stork (the largest bird in the western hemisphere), along with some 560 other species and rare birds such as the Harpy Eagle enjoy Belize as their native home.
Birdwatching can be combined with jungle trecking & canoeing. With such a diversity of habitats in Belize from the ocean coast line, rainforests, savannah and broadleaf forest, amateur and expert birdwatchers alike are amazed at the variety and freedom the birds enjoy.
